Flash Drive

A Flash Drive is a fast memory device that lets you store files and data. A Flash Drive or USB Flash Drive is made up of a memory chips and circuit board which is set into a plastic case that is just the size of a thumb. It is also called a thumbdrive or memory stick. There is no need for batteries to run the drive. Just plug the drive into the system’s flash drive port for memory transfers.

Flash drives are preferred because they are small, compact and they give that extra memory capacity without being cumbersome to handle. They are available in various memory capacities, so there are plenty of options on the size. When working the LED indicator in the flash drive will blink to indicate functioning.

Another advantage in using flash drives is that you can run software directly from it. There is no need to install such software in your system. The software stored in the drive will not store any information on the hard drive of the system in which it is inserted for use. This makes these drives ideal for storing and running personal software that you prefer to use for your tasks wherever you go. You can use it to store a web browser or any software program you like or any game and run that program directly from the drive in any system to which the Flash Drive is connected.
