Only a few years ago, Americans were accustomed to using TDMA phones that required programming before you could even use them. Things have changed since then for the better. While Apple started a whole new trend upwards with its iPhone, the Pre might take it even higher. It is said to have built on all the virtues of iPhone making it even more attractive.
The Pre scores over iPhone in many areas — multitasking being one of them. Its multitasking is extremely elegant, to say the least. It would be interesting to see how it is able to outdo the smooth app-switching ability of the iPhone.
Its memory management, however, still needs some improvement to match software updates of the future. Launching new apps and switching between them does sometime get slow, however, this being the Palm’s first attempt, we can cut them some slack — any software-related problems can be taken care of via updates.
Palm’s webOS allows you to log in to your pre-existing web service accounts which are immediately integrated into your phone over the Web. No other phone can do this so easily without any hassles. The Pre can even automatically pull up your friends’ Facebook photos and display them whenever they pop up in your phone message or call you!
Of course, when it comes to looks, there are very few things that can top the iPhone, but Pre tries hard to make up for it in more ways than one. Will it finally end the reign of iPhone? We’re as excited to find out as you are.
