The recent explosion of handy electronic devices has created a thirst for more powerful, more reliable, and less expensive battery power. Conventional one-time-use carbon-zinc “heavy-duty” batteries were far too weak to operate many modern electronics, so manufacturers’ optional alkaline batteries in their place. “Alkaline” offers much greater energy storage, but they were a costly one-time-use disposable substitute that was not appropriate to the increased power requirements of most portable electronics. Hence rechargeable batteries are found where it has outstanding energy source and is powerful, reliable, and reusable-costing just pennies per use.
However the first and foremost widely used rechargeable battery is nickel-cadmium battery (NiCd). Moreover these batteries can be recharged hundreds of times, and their resistance to high loads or surges. Rechargeable batteries offer the energy power needed for power-hungry computers, tools, and electronics. Unfortunately, there are numerous competing technologies on the market. Especially the invention of rechargeable batteries has given us freedom from the traditional alkaline batteries, which are not reliable. Rechargeable battery is indeed the better option these days as they are better in durability and performance. Rechargeable batteries are economical as they do not have to be often bought instead they can be reused after charging it.
